Arts & Education In Concert (AEIC) works with our youth to stop drug abuse and violence. But the core of our program is very different. Fundamentally, we ask the students to create a program that will work for them.
Through Project X, we have encountered many talented students - musicians, poets, artists and even comedians - at the high school open mic sessions. Last year's CD of these talented performers was a great success.
This CD showcases the music of Lauri Greene, a junior at South Lakes High School. We are proud to have Lauri represent the mission of AEIC. Our hope is that listening to this CD will influence you as positively as it has us.

"This story, as many often do, starts with an angsty teen with no outlet. Everywhere I go people are doing drugs. I'm not really into that. I wanna go to college, get a good job, a good husband.., that whole trip. As some of my friends like to go out and smoke-up on the weekend, I feel kinda left out, not really pressured though. Adults always think that we all push drugs on each other - verbally, and that everybody does it. It's really more that we don't want to be left behind on Saturday night. Well I would just like to say that not all teenagers are drug-crazed and drunken. In facts, lots of kids like me, they just wanna get to the next level. We spend our time doing our own thing; working, music, movies, etc. Drug use comes from boredom. Kids need something they can focus on. Well I found lots of outlets for myself: school, singing, guitar, and just whatever. This CD features the fruits of my labor and my love and labor and love of others."
